Giovanni Guanti has born in Rome in 1952, He has graduated in Philosophy at the University of Tourin in 1976. He has also graduated in Choral Music (at the Conservatorio of Firenze), Conducting of Chorus and in Composition at the Conservatorio of Milan. He has been teaching at the University of Cremona (1977-1983). He has tought at the Conservatorio “A. Vivaldi” of Alessandria since 1980 to 2004. Since 2004 he is “Professore associato” at the University of Rome 3. Since his foundation in 1983, he is member of the (A.I.S.E. (Associazione italiana per gli Studi di Estetica). He is also member of the International Center of Studies “Ferruccio Busoni” of Empoli. He is also in the scientific committee of the magazines “Musica/Realtà”, “Civiltà musicale” and “Pcal evolution of the musical aesthetics, and the theory of music and other arts. He has published the monographs Romanticismo e musica. L'estetica musicale da Kant a Nietzsche (EDT, 1981) and Estetica musicale. La storia e le fonti (La Nuova Italia 1999) and many essays about philosophers as Agostino, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, and composers as Busoni and Cage
