Jorge Salgado Correia. With a background in philosophy and music, Jorge Salgado Correia studied in Portugal, Holland and England. He is a specialist on contemporary music, having made the premiere of several works, many of them dedicated to him. He has given concerts and recitals in several countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America and in the USA as well as recorded several CDs with Numerica and Phone Edition labels. In addition to his career as a performer, Jorge Salgado Correia is Associate Professor at the University of Aveiro (Portugal), where he is Director of the Doctoral Program in Music. Jorge Salgado Correia completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield in 2003. His publications include articles at Psychology of Music, Studios Psychology and El Oído Thinking, several chapters of books published by Oxford University Press. He is the Coordinator of the group "Studies in Performance and Performance as Artistic Research" on INET-MD and is the President of the Portuguese Association of Flutes.
