Madalena Soveral born in Porto, Madalena Soveral studied music at the Porto Conservatory of Music and at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. Since 1990, she has given concerts as a soloist, with orchestra and with different chamber groups in the most prestigious music festivals and concert’s halls of France, Italy and Brazil. During her career, Madalena Soveral has focussed on the 20th century repertoire working with a great variety of composers, such as Giacinto Scelsi and Beat Furrer, and with the prestigious group “Les Percussions de Strasbourg”. Madalena Soveral has premiered numerous pieces, including several that are dedicated to her. In 2005, she completed the Doctorat in Musica at Université Paris 8 with the tesis Quatre compositeurs. Quatre oeuvres: la musique portugaise pour piano des années 90, published in Germany by Presses Académiques Francophones (2016). She published several articles and recorded several CD'S on 20th century piano music. Since 2006 Madalena Soveral is a Fellow Researcher with the CESEM (Centre for Research on Sociology and Aesthetics of Music) of the Nova Lisbon University.
